Today I release my second EP "Do Not Dehumanize," a collection of alternative folk rock songs I wrote about society in 2018 and 2019. "Do Not Dehumanize" reflects a journey from disillusionment to skeptical hope. Sometimes folksy, sometimes psychedelic, sometimes gentle, and sometimes heavy, my new EP explores a variety of interweaving sounds, and reflects more focused composition, theming, and production compared to my previous releases. Listen, follow, and let me know what you think.
My new EP "Do Not Dehumanize" is finished. I just received the masters and completed artwork, and have submitted for distribution. I will release "Do Not Dehumanize" July 27, 2019 on all streaming platforms.
This EP has been a long time in the making. After finishing my last EP "The Whole World is Gonna Die," I crafted this EP from scratch. While I had a few years' worth of backlog for my first EP, and had plenty of leftover to draw from, I wanted to capture my mindset in the backdrop of 2018 and early 2019. I wrote "Do Not Dehumanize" to take listeners on a journey from disillusionment through acceptance, and, finally, to hope. I think I accomplished that, along with some major improvements in production skill and composition. "Do Not Dehumanize" is comprised of a disparate selection of inter-connected songs that acoustic instruments, fuzzed-out electric guitars, and dynamic rhythms, and penetrating vocals.
Today I release my version of "Total Entertainment Forever," written and originally performed by Father John Misty (Josh Tillman). Links below, or search on any music streaming platform.
In the process of writing the EP that I am finalizing for release in January, I found myself wanting to play this song the way it is played in my recorded version after one of the more intense songs on the album. It adds to the arch of the album, so I added it. I hope you enjoy.
My new song, "Do not Dehumanize" is out today on all streaming and downloading services I know of. This song is about empathy. Links below, or just search in your favorite platform -- it'll be there.
I am sending tracks for my new EP in for mastering over the weekend! New music coming very soon. In the meantime, listen to my EP from earlier this year, "The Whole World is Gonna Die" on all music platforms. Links below, or just search in your favorite platform -- it'll be there.
I don't write many updates, but I continue to write music. I have a new batch of songs, some of which are part of an album/EP project I intend to release later this year. The project is tentatively titled "Do Not Dehumanize." The simple statement is perhaps a bit preachy. This project is generally inspired by the current climate of public discourse.... It can be a bummer, but at least we can still groove. Treat each other with love, ya'll.
Tonight at 7:15 PM, I again provide an acoustic guitar soundtrack to a Yin Yoga class (Core Restore) at CorePower Yoga in Clairemont, San Diego, CA. Susan, the instructor, leads an incredible class. I try to work with Susan's framework to amplify the experience with my acoustic guitar. I Iove playing for this class every month, as it gives me an opportunity to experiment with positive vibes only. Come join us tonight, or next month on March 4, 2018.
The San Diego Reader featured a little blip about my new EP, "The Whole World is Gonna Die." Link here. It's great they take the time to listen to and promote new artists. Ken Lehnig and Robin Henkel are also featured in this issue, and both have incredible new acoustic albums out. Great stuff. More to come.
My first EP is out today. "The Whole World is Gonna Die" - a sometimes dark, and often uplifting compilation - is available on all music streaming and downloading services I can think of.
Emerging Indie Bands offers a description of my EP "The Whole World is Gonna Die" that captures the mood and drive my music better than I could ever hope to:
"Whilst the LP title may cause you to contemplate – well this is going to be all panic stricken hyperbole – do allow me to dissuade you, please don’t be fooled by the name of the album, as although the songs do reflect of societies which spin around irrelevant axis it is neither overtly political nor in anyway sinking in to a pit of despair – rather – pondering of the inherently self-destructive and shining a candle of light through a long dark tunnel."

In spirit of recent American policy changes, my song "We Will Undermine You" seems like an appropriate next release. "We Will Undermine You" is about intentionally stifling democratic processes, and is featured on my upcoming EP "The Whole World is Gonna Die," which I will release on January 6, 2018. EP pre-orders start December 30, 2017.
I will release my first EP, "The Whole World is Gonna Die," in January 2018. This EP is a collection of songs about the things that keep me up at night — sometimes with a light-hearted or uplifting take, and sometimes not. The title track is literally about how humanity on Earth has a limited amount of time (hopefully still millions of years), but that our existence is still a worthwhile thing of beauty; just BEING is what makes it all worth while. This is a collection of songs I have written through the past three years that are intended to make the listener think and feel....something...anything.
After "The Whole World is Gonna Die" EP release, you can expect more from me in early 2018 and beyond. I have a number of projects in the works, including a second EP (recording right now), a meditation composition, a cover album, and an original full length album. Keep your eyes and ears peeled.
